Welcome to the Johannes School of Music, a network of boutique music schools, studios, and home visits in multiple locations including North America, Australia and New Zealand. We offer personalized one-on-one instruction and classes, focusing on the individual musical needs of our students.

Preparing for Success in Music

At JSM, we are dedicated to helping our students achieve international proficiency in music. Our programs are designed to prepare students for various examinations and certifications offered by world-wide examination boards. We also assist students in earning high school and college credits, in accordance with the regulations of independent schools and colleges in different state or provincial jurisdictions. Additionally, our programs provide a solid foundation for those pursuing a career in music, whether in performance, composition, musicology, or pedagogy, or simply for self-enrichment and enjoyment.

Nurturing Musical Gifts

Our mission is to develop a child's musical gift by nurturing their natural ability to respond to sound and music in their immediate surroundings. Starting as early as five years of age, we guide students in shaping their aural perception into the skill of recreating sound through extemporization on their chosen instrument. We introduce the concepts of linear and spatial dimensions on paper concurrently, gradually progressing to full notation on manuscript. By integrating aural perception and notation, we foster skills in aural awareness, abstract thinking, melody writing, chord progressions, improvisation, and eventually composition. This comprehensive approach enables our students to become well-rounded musicians, proficient sight-readers, and expand their repertoire in less time.
